Join us for Mineola’s iron Horse Heritage Festival on Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd.
The Mineola Chamber of Commerce has lots of entertainment, good food, rides for the kids, games and fun for the entire family in store for you this year.
Here is a quick calendar of what is happening at this event:
Friday, November 1, 2013
- “Mineola’s Got Talent” – 6PM – 7:15 PM – Mineola’s finest singers and performers will compete for cash prizes in this event. Friday night, we will narrow the field to 3 performers who will compete for the final prizes on Saturday at 12:30 PM. CLICK HERE to get your entry form to enter this contest.
- Rafael Espinoza Live in Concert – 7:30 PM – 10:30 PM – A great mix of blues and rick as performed by Berklee School of Music stand-out and our own local favorite, Rafael Espinoza. Rafael and his band always put on a great show and this performance promises to be one of their best. Come out and rock with us on the bricks of Johnson St.

10:00-10:45 Get going with the beautiful sounds of Dora Edwards & Sally McBurnett
11-11:30 – Mineola Charity Singers – Soulful and uplifting harmonies and pure singing talent. This is a must see.
12:00-12:30 Chili Cook-Off Judging and Winner Announcement – Don’t forget to get your bowl for ONLY $2 and get a sample of all entries. You won’t find a better lunch for $2 anywhere.
12:30-1:30 MGT Finals – Three finalists from Friday night perform for cash prizes of $150, $100 & $50
1:30-2:00 Mineola Jump Rope Team – See these talented kids perform amazing feats of timing and synchronicity.
2:30-3:30 Cross County Line Gospel – James Banks and his band will entertain you with a performance from their Gospel Jubilee.
3:40 – 4:40: Shea Birdwell – Relax from the day’s activities and listed to the soothing sounds of Shea Birdwell. He’s a Mineola favorite.
5:00 – 8:00 Serena & the Forgetful Few – Serena Kelly and her band, fresh off of their 2nd place finish at the Hawkins Oil Festival, will perform for you to close the day. Your favorite hits of the 80’s and 90’s, along with a few surprises, will keep you entertained as Serena and her band make their Mineola festival debut. You’ll love these guys!!
Combine all of these performances along with a full carnival of rides and games for the kids, great festival food and lots more going on and this is sure to be a great day in downtown Mineola.
It all starts Friday evening at 6 PM and continues Saturday morning at 10 AM in downtown Mineola on North Johnson St.
