Affiliations……..Member of Muddy Creek Baptist Church, having served as Chairman of Program Committee, “Willing Workers”, Business and Professional Auxiliary, a chair member and vice president of the Pastor’s Aide. Taught school in Mineola for 38 years. Served on the Planning and Zoning Board for 7 years. Served as United Way Block Chairman for many years. A member of Phi Delta Kappa. A member of the Friends of the Library, Mineola Historical Society, Lake Country Playhouse, organized the Birthday Cake Group for the local nursing home’s monthly Parties in Mineola.

She is survived by several cousins and many friends



Shannon Thomas Seaton, age 35, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Quitman, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, November 9, 1977 in Tyler, Texas to V.T. and Mary Kathryn Seaton. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mineola, Texas and had just returned from a mission trip with the UM Army.

He was involved in the Miss Mineola Pageant, the Lake Country Playhouse Theatre and was the Drama/Theatre teacher for the Mineola Independent School District.

He was preceded in death by his father, V.T. Seaton, Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Kathryn Seaton of Mineola; his wife, Tabitha Seaton of Mineola; and two daughters, Maisy Elisabeth and Madelyn Grace.

Visitation for Mr. Seaton will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 6 – 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Mineola on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Rick Son and Rev. Dan Danheim officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the FUMC Mineola Building Fund, Drama Dept. at Mineola ISD or the American Heart Association.


Gladys Irene Cadenhead Gott, was born in Proctor, Texas on Sunday, August 29, 1915, the youngest child of Rosa Dallas and James Clanton Cadenhead. She grew up in the country with her two brothers and three sisters. She married Charlie Gott in Erick, Oklahoma on November 26, 1932 and remained his bride of 63 years.

Gladys was a happy homemaker, one who enjoyed cooking and sewing for her husband, three children and her only granddaughter. She worked for Hemphill Wells in the gift wrapping department and did testing for the Cotton Co-op in Lubbock. She was a dedicated Christian and kept her children in church and taught them by example to love and serve the Lord.

Charlie and Gladys moved to Paradise, Texas in 1978 to be close to their son and his family. Charlie passed away May 26, 1996 and Gladys moved to Mineola, Texas in October 1997. She spent the last years of her life at Wood Memorial Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, her husband, a son-in-law and a granddaughter-in-law. She is survived by her children; Betty Leming, Earlene and Gary Brown, and Butch and Sue Gott, all of Mineola, Texas; five grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.

Visitation for Ms. Gott will be at Beaty Funeral Home on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be at Beaty Funeral Home on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Van Christian officiating.

Interment will be at Paradise Cemetery in Wise County at 3:30 PM.


Melanie Ann Brudwick, age 52, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on Saturday, February 11, 1961 in Bottineau, North Dakota to the late Milen and Alvina Brudwick. She was an RN, spending 15 years working for Mother Francis in Tyler and many years as a Home Health Nurse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marlys Ramsey.

She is survived by three brothers, Dennis Brudwick of McKinney, Texas; Michael Brudwick and Thomas Brudwick both of Fargo, North Dakota; and a sister, Janet Brudwick of Mineola.

Visitation for Ms. Brudwick will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Beaty Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dan Danheim officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.


Rose Jeanetta McCreary, age 83, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in Mineola, Texas. She was born on Saturday, August 3, 1929 in Mineola to the late David and Nannie Grimes. She was an Executive Secretary and attended First Baptist Church in Mineola.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Billy Bob McCreary.

She is survived by a son, Kelly McCreary; a brother, Edward Grimes and wife Margery of Mineola; a sister, Betty Ball of Mineola; one grandchild, Elaine Bueti McCreary; and one great-grandchild, Isabella Mendoza.

Visitation for Ms. McCreary will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 11:00 AM with Rev. Craig Lacey officiating.

Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.
