The Mineola Kiwanis Club served 194 Mineola ISD students this past Saturday morning. The children from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade were given dental exams, eye exams, medical checkups, haircut vouchers, and backpacks full of school supplies.
It was Saturday morning, but the First United Methodist Church’s Ministry Center on Newsom Street was almost as busy as a Sunday morning. An all-you-can-eat breakfast benefiting the Bread of Life Food Pantry began at 7. As soon as it was over at 10, the youth group began a car wash fundraiser to raise money for missions and activities.
