The Mineola Kiwanis Club hosted a concert Sunday night at the Lake Country Playhouse featuring the East Texas Men in Harmony to raise awareness and money for The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus. An estimated $2000 was raised via ticket sales and a collection during the concert to help provide immunizations to mothers and infants in 40 countries that still face the fatal threat of maternal/neonatal tetanus, known as MNT.
The Lake Country chapter of Whitetails Unlimited hosted a fundraiser banquet on Thursday, August 15. Monies raised will go to youth education and activities, and to process game meat to give to the needy. There were raffle items, including a table especially for kids, a silent auction, and a live auction.
It was Saturday morning, but the First United Methodist Church’s Ministry Center on Newsom Street was almost as busy as a Sunday morning. An all-you-can-eat breakfast benefiting the Bread of Life Food Pantry began at 7. As soon as it was over at 10, the youth group began a car wash fundraiser to raise money for missions and activities.
APET SPCA is sponsoring our 4th annual Woofin’ Waggin Walk-A-Thon on Saturday May 4 at the Mineola Civic Center. Participants will walk their dogs around the grounds with sponsorships from donors for their walks. The student who achieves the most in donations will be awarded a prize.…
