Stone Briar Center, Bringing New Business to Mineola

Stone Briar Center Sign

David Short realized that many people from Mineola go out of town to shop more than they shop in town, so he decided to do something about it. The Stone Briar Center shopping center is being erected to “bring that business back to Mineola.” Construction is expected to be completed in early September.

National fitness chain Snap Fitness has already signed on and aims to open their doors between September first and September fifteenth. Short says he and his partners have contacted hundreds of national retailers about the center and hope to create and upscale retail center with at least one eatery. As construction nears completion, more deals will be finalized.

There will be 11 spaces in the center. Anyone interested in having a shop in Stone Briar Center is encouraged to call 214-212-8752.

While I love all the antique shops in Mineola, and that is part of the town’s charm, it would be SO great to get some stores besides Wal-Mart in town that sell things we need, such as athletic equipment, shoes, clothing, etc. It would also be fantastic to get a good place to eat, too! Looking forward to seeing what moves into the center and keeping our fingers crossed that it’s something good so we don’t have to go to Lindale or Tyler all the time!

I hope we get some nice place to eat, and not Mexican food. We have several Mexican food restaurants in Mineola.

I think growth is good, even for small towns. We can still have the small town feel and charm and have growth!!

I would love to see a really good burger place or a tea room go in there.

More businesses means more jobs. There are plenty of people out there that need to work. Also new young families need a reason to come check out Mineola and possible come to call it home. This is a good healthy way to boost our economy here in this area.
