Mineola Mourns the Loss of Shannon Seaton (Update: Funeral Services Set)

Shannon SeatonEarlier today, Shannon Seaton (35) passed away apparently after performing some yard work. Details are still unclear, but apparently Seaton had been working in the yard and suffered some  kind of event that led to his passing.

He leaves behind a wife and two children as well as his other family members. He also leaves the East Texas theater community in mourning. Seaton was the theater teacher/director at Mineola High School and was also active at the Lake Country Playhouse. He had a hand in many things throughout our town and will be missed terribly by many.

Those who knew Shannon Seaton will remember his calm, quiet demeanor and his perpetual smile among the many other positive qualities he possessed.

Healing thoughts and prayers for his family are encouraged.

This is so sad, a terrible loss. Wonderful teacher for many children. My daughter started her love for drama when Shannon started teaching. He will be very missed. My heart goes out to his family.

Sadness fills our heart as a great influence and teacher passes, on this journey setbacks are abundant, but nothing damages the heart more then the death of a loved one. Are prayers are in line for the Seaton family, he will be missed.

My heart mourns to hear this news. I had the pleasure of knowing him, and being a part of his one and only yearbook class. He was a very calm and nice person from the day I walked through the door of his classroom, we had lots of good times in that class room. It was very unreal to hear the news, Mrs. Seaton if you happen to read this just know, that I pray daily for you and your girls that God brings peace to y’all. God does everything for a reason sometimes it might seem like all the walls are caving in but you have to rely on God for your struggles. I had the pleasure of knowing him and working with him, he will truly be missed by many. My God bring you and your family peace as we know we will see him again and in that time it will be in a better place.

We knew Shannon’s wife since she and my dauughter were children. Their family and ours were very close for many years till we moved away. However, we have heard nothing but good for Shannon and his family as well. For them we grieve and hurt, but we know he has gone to a better place. A place where there will be no more pain. So family let’s as we shift forwaed just remember what a great influence he has been on his school’s arts department and a long list of students. And remember the good to sustain us for the future.
