Just over 400 votes were cast for mayor in this election and candidate Ken Pearce came out on top by a tiny margin of 4 votes. After such a small margin, a recount is certainly possible and can be asked for by a candidate.
Also elected today were incumbent Pat Wood for City Council Ward 1 and Jack Jones for Ward 2. Mitchell Tuck ran unopposed this cycle for this seat on the council for Ward 3.
Congratulations to all who won. And also a thank you to Bo Whitus, our outgoing mayor, for his service to Mineola. Mr. Whitus has done some good things for this town and deserves credit for that.
