It was announced today that Jalapeno Tree is opening a restaurant in Mineola. Paul Bambrey, CEO of Jalapeno Tree Holdings, LLC made it official today. Jalapeno Tree operates restaurants throughout East Texas.
It was July 2011, when Mineola city councilperson Pat Wood was first in contact with Mr. Bambrey about opening a restaurant in Mineola. After the May, 2011 election where alcohol sales were legalized, Pat Wood knew it would just be a matter of time before restaurants sought out Mineola. Being the “go-getter” that Pat has been as a member of the Mineola City Council, she actually sought out Paul Bambrey and made first contact with his organization to invite them to Mineola. A little over a year later, and after many discussions with City Manager, David Stevenson, Jalapeno Tree is coming to Mineola.
The location will be on East Broad St. in the building previously occupied as Enchilada House.
Economic development comes in many sizes and shapes, from an initial phone call from an excited city council member to the hard work of a local realtor, Pat Hamlett, in chairing the committee to bring the alcohol election forth to a citizenry that is willing to accept change to a city government that is able to work out details and close the deal. Jobs well done.
Welcome, Paul Bambrey and Jalapeno Tree. Mineola welcomes you with open arms. Congratulations to those in our local government who work, at times against the grain, to move this town forward.
