Faith for the Journey 5K Benefits Texas Baptist Home for Children

Faith for the Journey 5K

Rose Hill Baptist Church hosted the second annual Faith for the Journey 5K to benefit Texas Baptist Home for Children on Saturday at the Mineola Nature Preserve. Participants included elementary-aged students, teenagers, young families, and seniors. There were bananas, granola bars, and bottles of water provided, and even a little entertainment for younger participants in the form of a volunteer who mistook the bananas for telephones. Silent auction tables extended from one end of the pavilion to the other and were laden with items facing both sides. Inspiration for the runners and walkers was readily available in the form or a cute little girl adopted through Texas Baptist Home – complete with superhero costume.

The funds raised during the 5K  and accompanying silent auction will be used to provide the following post adoption services:

  • Search and Assisitance for adult adoptees and birth family members
  • Psychological Testing
  • Medical and Subsidy Assistance
  • Copies of adoption records
  • Individual, group and family counseling for all triad members
  • Respite Care
  • Parental Education and Support
  • Personallized Care Management Services
  • Adoption Alumni Association
