City Plans to Sell the Mineola Nature Preserve

finishedIn a late afternoon press conference Monday, Mineola city leaders announced that the city will sell the Mineola Nature Preserve.

Officials say the proceeds of the sale will allow the city to re-pave and widen Commerce Street, so it can accommodate larger festivals.

With the city of Mineola placing a high priority on positioning itself as “The Bigfoot Capital of Texas,” the realization that Bigfoot is a mythical creature ┬áhas prompted the sale. Officials stated that being a nice, small town with drivable roads would be “good enough for now.”

The 2911 acre plot of land is located southeast of Mineola.
